Fees and Policies

Therapy is an investment in your personal growth, healing, and overall well-being. My standard fees reflect the care, expertise, and dedication I bring to our work together, as well as the value of a collaborative and transformative therapeutic relationship.

I believe in being transparent about fees so you can make an informed decision. Below, you’ll find details about session costs, fees, policies, and what to expect. If you have any questions, I’m happy to discuss further to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

Rates

  • I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can see if we’re a good fit to work together. This is a chance for you to ask questions, share what you’re looking for in therapy, and learn about my approach.

Before scheduling, I kindly ask that you consider your budget and whether working with an out-of-network provider is the right choice for you. If you know you’ll need an in-network therapist, I encourage you to explore options that align with your needs before requesting a consult with me.

The best way to find an in-network therapist is to call member services for your insurance plan as they will have the most up-to-date information around in-network clinicians.

To begin the process of scheduling a consult, please fill out the contact form on my website or through InclusiveTherapists.

  • Your first appointment is an important step in starting therapy. During this session, we’ll take the time to review informed consent, discuss confidentiality, explore your hopes for therapy, and touch on relevant personal and mental health history. This helps us lay a strong foundation for our work together.

The fee for your first appointment is $300, the same as for ongoing sessions. Since I’m not in-network with insurance, I don’t have the administrative overhead that often leads to higher fees for initial appointments. This consistency allows me to keep things straightforward and focused on you.

Once you’ve completed the brief intake forms, we’ll schedule your session, and the card on file will be charged before we meet for your first appointment.

  • After your first appointment, ongoing therapy sessions are designed to support your growth, healing, and well-being. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your goals, focusing on helping you navigate challenges and build the tools and insights you need to thrive.

    • 45-50 Minute Session: $300

    • 30 Minute Session: $150 (available when clinically appropriate)

Standard sessions are 45-50 minutes, providing ample time to explore your concerns in depth. Shorter 30-minute sessions may be an option for specific situations, and we can discuss whether this is a good fit for your needs.

Payment is due at the beginning of each session. The card on file will be charged before we start, allowing us to focus fully on the work without distractions.

Practice Policies

  • Payment for sessions is due at the beginning of each appointment. To simplify the process and ensure our time together is focused on your care, I will securely charge the card on file prior to starting each session.

    Session Fees

    • Initial Appointment and Ongoing 45-50 Minute Sessions: $300

    • 30-Minute Sessions (if clinically appropriate): $150

I accept payment via credit card, debit card, and HSA/FSA cards. If you have any concerns about payment, please discuss them with me in advance.

    Out-of-Network Reimbursement

As an out-of-network provider, I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your out-of-network benefits.

I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining clear and respectful financial agreements.

    Chargebacks and Non-Payment

I take payment agreements seriously and expect the same from clients. If a chargeback is initiated, I will contest it by providing the creditor with your signed informed consent and payment policies. Repeated non-payment or chargeback attempts may result in termination of services and referral to another provider. In addition, I reserve the option of involving a collection agency to recover outstanding balances.

  • All sessions are conducted remotely, typically over the phone, except in cases where video sessions are clinically required. For video-based therapy or specialized treatments, such as EMDR, I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform called RemotEMDR.

    Phone Sessions

    • Most sessions take place via phone for convenience and accessibility. Please ensure you are in a private and quiet location with good reception for the duration of the session.

    • Phone sessions are held to the same professional and therapeutic standards as in-person or video sessions.

    Video Sessions (When Required)

    • If a video session is clinically necessary, we will schedule it in advance. These sessions will be conducted using RemotEMDR, a secure platform designed for effective online therapy.

    • Please ensure you have access to a device with video and audio capabilities, a stable internet connection, and a private, quiet location for the session.

    • If technical issues arise during a session, we will troubleshoot together as best we can, briefly. However, due to the variety of devices, platforms, and configurations clients may use, I am only able to provide basic technical support. If the issue cannot be resolved quickly, we may transition to a phone session.

    Confidentiality

While I take every precaution to maintain confidentiality on my end, it’s important for you to choose a location where you feel secure and uninterrupted during sessions. Using headphones can further enhance privacy, especially in shared spaces.

    Session Policies

    • The same payment, cancellation, and late arrival policies apply to all telehealth sessions, whether phone or video.

    • Please be prepared to begin the session on time. If technical difficulties arise during a scheduled video session, we may transition to a phone call or reschedule as needed.

    Limitations of Telehealth

While phone and video sessions are effective for many therapeutic goals, they may not be suitable for all circumstances. If it becomes clear that your needs would be better served by in-person care or a different modality, I will work with you to explore appropriate options.

If you have questions or concerns about telehealth or the use of phone and video sessions, I encourage you to reach out so we can discuss your needs. My goal is to ensure a flexible, secure, and supportive therapy experience.

  • I understand that navigating time and schedules can be uniquely challenging, especially for clients who are neurodivergent. Punctuality is important to ensure we make the most of your session time, but I also recognize that symptoms of neurodivergence may sometimes affect timeliness. When lateness is clearly connected to these challenges, I commit to approaching the issue with compassion and working with you to find ways to make therapy as accessible and successful as possible.

    If You Arrive Late

    • For standard 45-50 minute sessions, I will wait up to 15 minutes for your arrival.

    • For shorter 30-minute sessions, there is a 10-minute grace period for late arrivals.

    • During this time, I will attempt to contact you twice: once by phone and a follow-up text if I don’t hear back.

If you arrive within the grace period and I can accommodate a slightly delayed start, I will do my best to proceed with the session. However, please note that my schedule may not always allow for flexibility. If we cannot begin within the grace period, the session will be considered a no-show, and the cancellation policy will apply.

    If I Run Late

I prioritize beginning sessions on time and make every effort to start if not exactly on time (per my cellphone) or within 3 minutes of your scheduled appointment. It is very rare that I run late as I use a lot of alarms as part of my own management strategy of my own neurodivergence. If this does occur, I will ensure that the time lost is accounted for, either by extending the session when possible or by addressing it collaboratively in a way that feels fair to you.

Working from a relational lens, I believe transparency is key. My clients know about planned absences or reduced availability for health needs well in advance so they can plan accordingly. I appreciate your understanding in return as we work together to maintain a fair and balanced therapeutic relationship.

    Impact on Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If you plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement, please be aware that insurance reimbursement is typically based on the time spent in session. A shorter session resulting from a late arrival may lead to reduced reimbursement from your insurance provider.

    Reminders Are a Courtesy

I send reminder texts and emails as a courtesy to help you keep track of your appointments. However, not receiving these reminders does not exempt you from fees for late arrivals, cancellations, or no-shows. Please ensure your calendar is updated with your scheduled appointments.

I appreciate your understanding and your efforts to arrive on time. If lateness is a recurring issue related to neurodivergence, please don’t hesitate to bring it up so we can work together to find strategies or adjustments that support your success in therapy.

  • Therapy is most effective when it happens during our dedicated time together. Outside of your scheduled sessions, I do not keep regular office hours or guarantee same-day responses to non-urgent communications.

    Availability

I deeply care about your well-being, and I understand that reaching out between sessions can feel vulnerable and important. However, please know that it is highly unlikely I will be able to respond to non-urgent messages on the same day. While I check messages periodically, my availability outside of scheduled sessions is very limited.

If you’re navigating a difficult moment, I encourage you to use the tools we’ve discussed in therapy—your coping skills, natural supports, and self-care practices.

For additional support, warm lines can offer compassionate and non-judgmental assistance. However, it’s important to be mindful of what you share, as some lines may initiate a wellness check if certain protocols are activated. This can sometimes lead to interventions that might feel unwelcome or unnecessary. I encourage you to seek support while also prioritizing your comfort and safety.

    Work-Life Balance

I aim to model a healthy work-life balance by living it myself. This includes setting boundaries around work outside of scheduled sessions to prioritize my own well-being. By embracing this balance, I can show up as my best self for our work together.

Thank you for respecting these boundaries. They are designed to support both your care and my ability to provide high-quality therapy while maintaining balance in my own life.

  • Creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment is essential for effective therapy. I am committed to providing a space where we can engage in meaningful work together, and I expect the same level of respect in return.

I do not tolerate behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Threatening language or actions

    • Harassment of any kind

    • Disrespectful or abusive communication

If I ever feel unsafe or believe that a client's behavior compromises the therapeutic relationship, I reserve the right to end our work together and refer the client to another provider. This decision will not be made lightly and will always prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

By setting clear boundaries, we can foster a space of mutual respect where growth and healing are possible.

  • Life happens, and I understand that schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice.

    • Late Cancellations: Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a $200 late cancellation fee.

    • No-Shows: Missed appointments without prior notice are considered no-shows and will also incur the $200 fee.

    Reminders Are a Courtesy
I send reminder texts and emails as a courtesy to help you keep track of your scheduled appointments. However, not receiving these reminders does not exempt you from fees for late cancellations or no-shows. Please ensure your calendar is updated with your appointments.

This policy helps ensure fairness and respect for both my time and the time I reserve for you. Thank you for your understanding!
